Feedback Evaluation
Local artists continue to build on the creative legacy that has thrived over the years from Picasso, Rodin and the Bloomsbury group amongst other renowned artists and craftsmen and the many varied art types that we now enjoy today.
In this, the 18th year of Artwave, Lewes District Council continued to provide support for local artists and makers to platform their work to a wider public throughout the duration of the festival. Through extensive marketing, awareness of the arts continues long after the festival has officially finished.
The festival continues to significantly contribute to the local economy, not just via local spend, but also by attracting visitors from outside the area who come into the district with the sole purpose of viewing the festival and thereby support a wide variety of local businesses on their visit. Participating artists and craftsmen have reported that the long term business achieved continues throughout the year, thus generating ongoing revenue for local creative industries in our area.
