'The Gods in the Landscape' - Winners Announced

Artwave 2009 Order of Bards Ovates & Druids Art Award

The 2009 competition invited submissions for the theme 'The Gods in the Landscape'. The winner was presented with a £100 prize from the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids.

Mark Glassman - paintings, Colin Tingle & Michele Findlay - ceramics, Lou Johns - sinuous human forms and Paul Cox metal garden ornaments and fibre glass bunnies.

This delightful garden, which had already won third prize in 2009 as the “Best back garden in Seaford In Bloom” was the perfect backdrop to the variety of artwork on display and a fantastic location for Artwave visitors to enjoy the delights of stunning artwork whilst taking tea in one of the beautifully designed outside garden rooms.

Tea and coffee was served in an eclectic collection of china cups and saucers along with homemade individually crafted cup cakes.

‘What a deserving winner a beautifully crafted piece of artwork in its entirety, I met with such friendly hosts, took tea with complete strangers and enjoyed the experience so much I went back for a second visit – keep up the good work and I am looking forward to next year.’

£300 was raised for Martlets Hospice from donations.
