'Elements' Order of Bards Ovates & Druids Art Award

Artwave 2008 together with the Lewes based Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, set this years exciting art competition open to visitors and participants of Artwave.

Entries were held exhibited at the Crypt Gallery off Church Street, Seaford from 9th -12th September 2008 as an extended Artwave exhibition event. A panel of Judges selected the winning entry and presented a cheque of £100 to Janette Statton and Naomi Browne, with two runners up - Dorothy Valenti and Susan Penock. This event was covered by The Argus and Meridian Television, Friday 19 September and Wednesday 10 September 2008.

Artwave 2009 - Competition title has not yet been chosen - watch this space!

Art submissions can be in any format: photography, painting, embroidery, print, etc but must be original work and bespoke to the competition (copying others work is not an acceptable entry). Work that has been previously exhibited is also not acceptable.

Any large or difficult to display work must be discussed with the Artwave office beforehand.

All submissions must be accompanied by a completed entry form.

Artwave Open House Competition

As in previous years 'Latest' publications sponsored and administered The Open House competition, which offered visitors the chance to vote for the best open house during Artwave. The winner was Jo Allen - St Martins Cottage, Steyne Road, Seaford. Newhaven Fort also sponsored the event by offering a prize of an annual family pass to one voter picked randomly to Mrs H. Cook of Peacehaven.
